Machine learning‐driven advances in carbon‐based quantum dots: Opportunities accompanied by challenges

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning provides a unifying framework to connect structure, fluorescence properties, and applications of carbon‐based quantum dots. This review highlights how data‐driven strategies enable fluorescence regulation, reveal underlying mechanisms, and accelerate the rational design of functional carbon dots.

Rhyming in the cold: first evidence of soniferous fishes in the Southern Ocean

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
The acoustic ecology of Southern Ocean fishes remains unknown due to a lack of dedicated acoustic research on the fishes of this ocean. Passive acoustic monitoring data were collected at the South African sub‐Antarctic Prince Edward Islands using an underwater acoustic recorder, and towed underwater Ski‐Monkey cameras were deployed to identify fish ...

Low‐Complexity Hybrid Beamforming for LEO Satellites: Beam Update Rate Analysis and Advanced Adaptive Precoding

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations offer unprecedented opportunities for global broadband connectivity but pose significant beamforming challenges due to rapid platform motion and stringent onboard hardware constraints. Fully digital architectures, while optimal in theory, remain impractical for satellite payloads, motivating ...

Spectral phase: from basics to video-rate application to tuning-fork resonance characterization

open access: yesPublicaciones en Ciencias y Tecnología, 2018
Whereas graduated students are usually familiar with Fourier spectra, the spectral phase remains often mysterious to them. This paper proposes a “hands on.approach of discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and spectral phase. In a first part, basics of DFT are

Enhancing Li+ Ion Transport via Dynamic Coupling With Borohydride Reorientation in Li6PS5X Argyrodites

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The mechanism for ionic conductivity enhancement induced by BH4− substitution in argyrodites has been elucidated. BH4− substitution at the 4a/4d sites enhances Li+ transport by uniformizing cage sizes and providing continuous inter‐cage hopping pathways, while dynamic coupling between BH4− reorientation and Li+ transport motion further promotes long ...

A New Fast Discrete Fourier Transform

open access: yes
. This paper presents a new fast Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) algorithm. By rewriting the DFT, a new algorithm is obtained that uses 2 n\Gamma2 (3n \Gamma 13)+4n \Gamma 2 real multiplications and 2 n\Gamma2 (7n \Gamma 29) + 6n + 2 real additions

Polysulfide Immobilization and Sulfur Conversion Kinetics Promotion via a Tetrathiafulvalene–Crown Ether COF@Graphene Layer for High‐Rate Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A polysulfide‐regulating covalent organic framework (TUS‐44) integrating tetrathiafulvalene and crown‐ether linkers forms an electron‐delocalized, ion‐coordinative network that synergistically mediates Li–S redox chemistry. When interfaced with graphene, the TUS‐44@G layer functions as a catalytic and chemisorptive interface, enabling efficient ...

Probing Steady‐State Carrier Properties and Charge Transport in Covalent Organic Framework by Frequency‐Domain Terahertz Spectroscopy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
This work reports a combined frequency‐domain and time‐domain terahertz (THz) spectroscopic approach to elucidate intrinsic carrier properties and transport mechanisms in framework materials over the extended 0.5–20 THz region. Subtle structural and chemical variations are shown to strongly influence THz charge‐transport behavior across the far ...

Ionothermal Synthesis of Cu(Sb2Se3)[AlCl4] and Cu5(Bi2Se3)6[AlCl4]5 : Monolayers of Sb2Se3 and Bi2Se3 Stabilized by Cu[AlCl4]

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
Ionothermal synthesis in Lewis‐acidic ionic liquids (ILs) yields two new low‐dimensional pnictogen–selenide networks cocrystallized with Cu[AlCl4]. Both are narrow‐gap semiconductors that exhibit strong absorption throughout the visible range. Topochemical AlCl3 extraction triggers partial delamination, pointing to a viable route toward 2D derivatives.
