Optically Driven Formation of Tailored Phonon Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that a structured optical field creates nanoscale “phonon cavities” in van der Waals materials, where atomic vibrations are confined and controlled in space and time. This approach enables programmable control of cavity geometry, symmetry, and frequency, and provides a platform for ultrafast studies of nonequilibrium interactions and

Grain Boundary Segregation Suppresses Local Short‐Range Ordering in Nanocrystalline High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multicomponent alloys, such as high‐entropy alloys (HEAs), are considered to be in a random solid solution. However, recent studies have shown that short‐range ordering (SRO) is prevalent in these HEAs due to multipairwise interactions among the constituent elements, which can be deleterious.

Selective and Long‐Term Stable Ammonia Electrolysis Using Pt–WOx Catalysts with Suppressed NOx Formation and Enhanced Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports photodeposited Pt nanoparticles on WOx nanowires (Pt–WOx (P)) as a bifunctional catalyst for ammonia electrolysis. Strong metal–support interactions promote electron transfer to Pt, lowering the energy barrier of the rate‐determining step and suppressing NOx formation.

Controlled Photocatalytic Reduction of CO2 by Precise Atomic‐Level Interface Modification and Engineering of Silver Nanoclusters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ag44 nanoclusters are anchored on the CdS surface via low‐temperature electrostatic deposition. This facilitated the directed migration of electrons at the interface, thereby effectively suppressing the hydrogen evolution reaction and promoting the highly selective reduction of CO2 to carbon monoxide (CO).
