Logarithm of the Discrete Fourier Transform
The discrete Fourier transform defines a unitary matrix operator. The logarithm of this operator is computed, along with the projection maps onto its eigenspaces. A geometric interpretation of the discrete Fourier transform is also given.

Dimensions of Atonality: A Response and Extension of von Hippel and Huron (2020)
This commentary addresses von Hippel and Huron's (2020) work on "tonal and anti-tonal" structures in twelve-tone music and offers a possible extension making use of discrete Fourier transforms.

More on algebraic properties of the discrete Fourier transform raising and lowering operators★
In the present work, we discuss some additional findings concerning algebraic properties of the N-dimensional discrete Fourier transform (DFT) raising and lowering difference operators, recently introduced in [Atakishiyeva MK, Atakishiyev NM (2015), J ...

Uncertainty Relation for the Discrete Fourier Transform [PDF]
We derive an uncertainty relation for two unitary operators which obey a commutation relation of the form UV=exp[i phi] VU. Its most important application is to constrain how much a quantum state can be localised simultaneously in two mutually unbiased bases related by a Discrete Fourier Transform.

Comparison of Image Compressions: Analog Transformations
A comparison between the four most used transforms, the discrete Fourier transform (DFT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), the Walsh–Hadamard transform (WHT) and the Haar-wavelet transform (DWT), for the transmission of analog images, varying their ...

Calculation Scheme Based on a Weighted Primitive: Application to Image Processing Transforms
This paper presents a method to improve the calculation of functions which specially demand a great amount of computing resources. The method is based on the choice of a weighted primitive which enables the calculation of function values under the scope ...
