Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Time-series analysis of Sentinel-1/2 data for flood detection using a discrete global grid system and seasonal decomposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2023
Automated flood detection using earth observation data is a crucial task for efficient flood disaster management. Current solutions to identify flooded areas usually rely on calculating the difference between new observations and static, pre-calculated ...

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

W-Hilbert: A W-shaped Hilbert curve and coding method for multiscale geospatial data index

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2023
Space-filling curves (SFCs) are commonly used in discrete global grid systems (DGGSs) and applied to efficient indices and queries of massive geospatial data.

Design, Test and Implement a Reflective Scheduler with Task Partitioning Support of a Grid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
How to manage a dynamic environment and how to provide task partitioning are two key concerns when developing distributed computing applications. The emergence of Grid computing environments extends these problems.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights
