Long-time properties of generic Floquet systems are approximately periodic with the driving period

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
A Floquet quantum system is governed by a Hamiltonian that is periodic in time. Consider the space of piecewise time-independent Floquet systems with (geometrically) local interactions.

Ordered Median Traveling Salesman Problem

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper introduces a novel combinatorial optimization problem with ordering constraints, termed the Ordered Median Traveling Salesman Problem (OMTSP). The OMTSP integrates key elements from both the classic Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and the Ordered Median Location Problem.

A sample size analysis of a mathematical model of longitudinal tumor volume and progression‐free survival for Bayesian individual dynamic predictions in recurrent high‐grade glioma

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 495-509, March 2025.
Abstract Patients with recurrent high‐grade glioma (rHGG) have a poor prognosis with median progression‐free survival (PFS) of <7 months. Responses to treatment are heterogenous, suggesting a clinical need for prognostic models. Bayesian data analysis can exploit individual patient follow‐up imaging studies to adaptively predict the risk of progression.

Optimal Homogeneous ℒp$$ {\boldsymbol{\mathcal{L}}}_{\boldsymbol{p}} $$‐Gain Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nonlinear ℋ∞$$ {\mathscr{H}}_{\infty } $$‐controllers are designed for arbitrarily weighted, continuous homogeneous systems with a focus on systems affine in the control input. Based on the homogeneous ℒp$$ {\mathcal{L}}_p $$‐norm, the input–output behavior is quantified in terms of the homogeneous ℒp$$ {\mathcal{L}}_p $$‐gain as a ...

On the Maximal Subspaces of Discrete Hamiltonian Systems

open access: yesBulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society
AbstractIn this paper, we consider a discrete Hamiltonian system on nonnegative integers, and using Sylvester’s inertia indices theory, we construct maximal subspaces on which the Hermitian form has a certain sign. After constructing nested ellipsoids, we introduce a lower bound for the number of linearly independent summable-square solutions of the ...

On the Discrete Riccati Equation and Its Applications to Discrete Hamiltonian Systems

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 1995
The authors derive comparison theorems for discrete Riccati systems and sufficient conditions of disconjugacy for such autonomous systems, that is, systems with constant coefficient matrices. Applications are made to discrete Hamiltonian vector difference systems introduced by the authors [Proc. Am. Math. Soc., 119, No. 2, 525-533 (1993; Zbl 0794.39006)

nlchains: A fast and accurate time integration of 1-D nonlinear chains on GPUs

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2019
We present nlchains, a software for simulating ensembles of one-dimensional Hamiltonian systems with nearest neighbor interactions. The implemented models are the α-β Fermi–Pasta–Ulam–Tsingou model, the discrete nonlinear Klein–Gordon model with equal or

Synthesizing Interacting Model‐Based Optimal Control and Model‐Free Learning Approaches for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider the optimal control problem for an unknown continuous‐time nonlinear system, and present a framework that integrates model‐based and model‐free methods to solve it. Each approach offers distinct advantages: model‐based techniques provide offline synthesis and data efficiency, while model‐free procedures excel at ...

Rayleigh principle for time scale symplectic systems and applications

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2011
In this paper we establish the Rayleigh principle, i.e., the variational characterization of the eigenvalues, for a general eigenvalue problem consisting of a time scale symplectic system and the Dirichlet boundary conditions.
