Enhancement of Dielectric Breakdown Strength and Recoverable Energy Density in Three‐Dimensional Heterointerfaces on BaTiO3–PbZrO3–PbTiO3 Films via Room‐Temperature Nano‐Clustering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A room‐temperature aerosol deposition process yields multiphase nano‐clustered dielectric capacitors containing discrete BaTiO3, PbZrO3, and PbTiO3 crystals. This architecture creates three‐dimensional heterointerfaces that induce interfacial charge trapping and effectively inhibit breakdown propagation.

Dye‐Initiated Chirped Cholesteric Polymer Networks Exhibiting Broadband Dissipative Chiral Photonic Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dye‐based photoinitiator acting as a structure‐directing element, guides the formation of a cholesteric polymer network that behaves as a chirped photonic structure with dissipative chiral coupling. Photopolymerization freezes a depth‐dependent helical pitch, broadening the Bragg resonance spectrum.

Adjoint Algorithms for the Optimization of 3d Turbulent Configurations

open access: yes, 2007
The solution of the discrete adjoint equations for an unstructured finite volume compressible Navier-Stokes solver is discussed. In previous work fixedpoint iterations taken from the non-linear method - suitably adjointed - were applied to the adjoint ...

Pull‐and‐Push Nanotherapeutic Hydrogels: Scavenging Inflammatory Triggers While Driving Tissue Regeneration in Burn Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanounit‐assembled hydrogel employing a “pull‐and‐push” strategy simultaneously scavenges pro‐inflammatory cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and delivers regenerative therapeutics in response to burn‐induced hyperthermia. By repolarizing macrophages and promoting angiogenesis, this multifunctional platform accelerates burn wound healing, offering a blueprint for

A comprehensive literature classification of simulation optimisation methods

open access: yes
Simulation Optimization (SO) provides a structured approach to the system design and configuration when analytical expressions for input/output relationships are unavailable. Several excellent surveys have been written on this topic.

Vorticity‐Driven µ‐Platelet Rotation and Selective Packing for Vertical Thermal–Electrical Interconnects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a capillary‐filtering‐based particle‐filling (CFPF) process that simultaneously forms vertical thermal pathways and electrical vias within µ‐pores. In situ microfluidic analysis reveals that capillary‐driven velocity gradients generate vorticity that governs µ‐platelet rotation and vertical alignment.

Buckling Optimization of Laminated Hybrid Composite Shell Structures Using Discrete Material Optimization

open access: yes, 2005
The design problem of maximizing the buckling load factor of laminated hybrid composite shell structures is investigated using the so-called Discrete Material Optimization (DMO) approach.

Simulation and Optimization of Integrated Maintenance Strategies for an Aircraft Assembly Process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this thesis, the COMAC ARJ21 fuselage’s final assembly process is used as a case study. High production rate (i.e. number of aircraft assembled per year) with reasonable cost is the overall aim in this example.

Multifunctional Gold Nanocluster‐Based PROTAC System for Targeted Degradation of Phosphorylated Tau and Modulation of Neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a novel proteolysis‐targeting chimera (PROTAC) system conjugated to lipoic acid gold nanoclusters (PLANC), designed to degrade pTau, regulate inflammatory signaling, and effectively traverse the blood‐brain barrier (BBB). PLANC degraded pTau at various phosphorylation sites, with mechanistic studies confirming proteasome‐mediated degradation

Multi-Period Asset Allocation: An Application of Discrete Stochastic Programming

open access: yes
The issue of modeling farm financial decisions in a dynamic framework is addressed in this paper. Discrete stochastic programming is used to model the farm portfolio over the planning period.
