An algorithm for computing the discrete Radon transform with some applications

open access: yesFourth IEEE Region 10 International Conference TENCON, 2003
A method is proposed for computing the DRT (discrete Radon transform) by exploiting the converse of the central slice theorem relating the Radon and Fourier transforms, using the FFT (fast Fourier transform) algorithm. Simulation of the DRT algorithm is presented and some applications are discussed.

Renormalization techniques for inflation systems and some of their applications

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A, EarlyView.
In this work, renormalization methods for quantities related to the diffraction of inflation systems are surveyed.Exact renormalization techniques are important and powerful, particularly for inflation‐generated systems. We review recent results in this direction.

Texture Analysis Using Modified Discrete Radon Transform

open access: yesIEICE Transactions on Information and Systems, 2007
In this paper, we address the problem of the rotation-invariant texture analysis. For this purpose, we first present a modified version of the discrete Radon transform whose performance, including accuracy and processing time, is significantly better than the conventional transform in direction estimation and categorization of textural images.

Survey on differential estimators for 3d point clouds

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent advancements in 3D scanning technologies, including LiDAR and photogrammetry, have enabled the precise digital replication of real‐world objects. These methods are widely used in fields such as GIS, robotics, and cultural heritage. However, the point clouds generated by such scans are often noisy and unstructured, posing challenges for ...

A mine image denoising algorithm based on improved trimmed mean

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua
The existing mine image denoising algorithms have limited effectiveness in removing complex noise, and their processing speed cannot meet the requirements of real-time monitoring.

Farey Sequences and Discrete Radon Transform Projection Angles

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, 2003
Abstract This paper examines how the minimal set of digital projection angles for the Discrete Radon Transform (DRT) is selected from the known sequence of Farey fractions. A square array of prime size p defines a unique direction for each digital projection, m, through an integer ratio x m /y m .

Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...

Establishing Shape Correspondences: A Survey

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Shape correspondence between surfaces in 3D is a central problem in geometry processing, concerned with establishing meaningful relations between surfaces. While all correspondence problems share this goal, specific formulations can differ significantly: Downstream applications require certain properties that correspondences must satisfy ...

Applying Mojette discrete Radon transforms to classical tomographic data

open access: yes, 2008
International audienceTomographic acquisition uses projection angles evenly distributed around 2π. The Mojette transform and the discrete Finite Radon Transform (FRT) both use discrete geometry to overcome the ill-posedeness of the inverse Radon ...
