Notes on discrete subgroups of Möbius transformations
Let \(g,h\in\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})\) generate a nonelementary discrete group. Then \(|\text{tr}^2(g)-4|+|\text{tr}[g,h]-2|\geq 1\). There are many extensions and improvements of this inequality, especially by F. W. Gehring and G. Martin in a series of papers.

The discrete cocompact subgroups of the five-dimensional connected, simply connected nilpotent Lie groups are determined up to isomorphism. Moreover, we prove if G = N × A is a connected, simply connected, nilpotent Lie group with an Abelian factor A ...

Harmonic Analysis in One-Parameter Metabelian Nilmanifolds
Let G be a connected, simply connected one-parameter metabelian nilpotent Lie group, that means, the corresponding Lie algebra has a one-codimensional abelian subalgebra. In this article we show that G contains a discrete cocompact subgroup.

Special para-f-structures on Lie groups are studied. It is shown that every para-f-Lie group G is the quotient of the product of an almost product Lie group and a Lie group with trivial para-f-structure by a discrete subgroup.

On algebraic convergence of non-elementary discrete subgroups of SL(2,Qp)
In the Kelinian groups, the study of the algebraic convergence of the sequence of the discrete subgroups is a very important topic, since the algebraic convergence of the sequence of the discrete subgroups can be applied to study the deformations the ...

Risk, reward, and decision-making in a rodent model of cognitive aging
Impaired decision-making in aging can directly impact factors (financial security, quality of healthcare) that are critical to maintaining quality of life and independence at advanced ages.

Discretization of Target Attributes for Subgroup Discovery [PDF]
We describe an algorithm called TargetCluster for the discretization of continuous targets in subgroup discovery. The algorithm identifies patterns in the target data and uses them to select the discretization cutpoints. The algorithm has been implemented in a subgroup discovery method. Tests show that the discretization method likely leads to improved

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
