Seta‐Inspired Mechano‐Intelligent Janus Bandage with Coordinated Adhesion–Contraction for Minimizing Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a bioinspired mechano‐intelligent Janus bandage (MIB) with a hydrophobic flat exterior and a hydrophilic interior featuring gecko‐mimicking wedged microstructures, fabricated via micromolding and anisotropic plasma treatment. The MIB dynamically synchronizes adhesion and contraction, enabling precise force modulation.

The Venture Capital Solution to the Problem of Close Corporation Shareholder Fiduciary Duties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this report we study estimation of time-delays in linear dynamical systems with additive noise. Estimating time-delays is a common engineering problem, e.g. in automatic control, system identification and signal processing.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Mathematical Model for Economic Growth, Corruption and Unemployment: Analysis of the Effects of a Time Delay in the Economic Growth

open access: yesAppliedMath
In this article, we propose a nonlinear mathematical model that incorporates a discrete time delay. The model is used to analyze the dynamics of a socioeconomic system that includes economic growth, corruption, and unemployment.

On finite time delay dependent stability of linear discrete delay systems: Numerical solution approach [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Technical Review, 2015
In this paper, a possible solution of the basic nonlinear quadratic matrix equation was proposed. The solution is crucial in the formulation of the particular criteria for the delay-dependent finite time stability of discrete time delay systems ...

The Stability of Linear Time-Varying Discrete Systems with Time-Delay

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
The proposed stability criterion is based on a discretized version of the first Lyapunov method: determination of characteristic numbers of functions. The function \(\Omega\), constructed from the starting equation (1), is analogous to the Green function of a linear ODE.

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...

The dynamics and control of large flexible space structures X, part 1 [PDF]

open access: yes
The effect of delay in the control system input on the stability of a continuously acting controller which is designed without considering the delay is studied.
