Flatness and Submersivity of Discrete-Time Dynamical Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Control Systems Letters, 2020
This letter addresses flatness of discrete-time systems called difference flatness. A definition of flatness, that encompasses the standard ones, in particular backward and forward difference flatness, is introduced. It also allows to cope with systems which are not necessarily controllable or submersive.

Stability Switching in Lotka-Volterra and Ricker-Type Predator-Prey Systems with Arbitrary Step Size

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
Dynamical properties of numerically approximated discrete systems may become inconsistent with those of the corresponding continuous-time system. We present a qualitative analysis of the dynamical properties of two-species Lotka-Volterra and Ricker-type ...

Controlled Discrete-Time Semi-Markov Random Evolutions and Their Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In this paper, we introduced controlled discrete-time semi-Markov random evolutions. These processes are random evolutions of discrete-time semi-Markov processes where we consider a control. applied to the values of random evolution.

O-Minimal Invariants for Discrete-Time Dynamical Systems [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Computational Logic, 2022
Termination analysis of linear loops plays a key rôle in several areas of computer science, including program verification and abstract interpretation. Already for the simplest variants of linear loops the question of termination relates to deep open problems in number theory, such as the decidability of the Skolem and Positivity Problems ...

Convergence time towards periodic orbits in discrete dynamical systems. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
We investigate the convergence towards periodic orbits in discrete dynamical systems. We examine the probability that a randomly chosen point converges to a particular neighborhood of a periodic orbit in a fixed number of iterations, and we use ...

Reverse engineering time discrete finite dynamical systems: a feasible undertaking? [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
With the advent of high-throughput profiling methods, interest in reverse engineering the structure and dynamics of biochemical networks is high. Recently an algorithm for reverse engineering of biochemical networks was developed by Laubenbacher and ...

Time is a discrete dynamical system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We conjecture that quantum vacuum operates its discrete dynamics in a superposition of a class of iterating functions such that each physical system operates within a distinct function.

Thermodynamic modeling, energy equipartition, and nonconservation of entropy for discrete-time dynamical systems

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2005
We develop thermodynamic models for discrete-time large-scale dynamical systems. Specifically, using compartmental dynamical system theory, we develop energy flow models possessing energy conservation, energy equipartition, temperature equipartition, and

On discrete-time models of network worm propagation generated by quadratic operators

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2023
In this paper we consider the discrete-time dynamical systems generated by network worm propagation models based on the theory of quadratic stochastic operators(QSO).
