Sampling and discrete linear canonical transforms

open access: yes, 2016
Chapter 8A discrete linear canonical transform would facilitate numerical calculations in many applications in signal processing, scalar wave optics, and nuclear physics. The question is how to define a discrete transform so that it not only approximates

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Generalizing the discrete fourier transform

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1985
The author defines the generalized discrete Fourier transform (GDFT (\({\mathbb{F}}G))\) as being the mapping \(\sigma_ G: {\mathbb{F}}G\to A_ 1\oplus...\oplus A_ s\) which decomposes the semisimple group algebra \({\mathbb{F}}G\) into simple Wedderburn components \(A_ i\), \(i=1,...,s\).

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Two Versions of Dunkl Linear Canonical Wavelet Transforms and Applications

open access: yesMathematics
Among the class of generalized Fourier transformations, the linear canonical transform is of crucial importance, mainly due to its higher degrees of freedom compared to the conventional Fourier and fractional Fourier transforms.

Discrete weighted transforms and large-integer arithmetic

open access: yes, 1994
It is well known that Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) techniques may be used to multiply large integers. We introduce the concept of Discrete Weighted Transforms (DWTs) which, in certain situations, substantially improve the speed of multiplication by ...
