CONVOLUTION FOR THE DISCRETE WAVELET TRANSFORM

International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2011
Translation and convolution associated with the discrete wavelet transform are investigated using properties of Calderón–Zygmund operator and Riesz fractional integral operator. Dual convolution is also studied. The wavelet convolution is applied to approximate functions belonging to certain Lp-spaces.

On computation of the discrete W transform

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1999
Summary: This correspondence presents new fast algorithms for the type-II, -III, and -IV discrete \(W\) transform (DWT). The type-II and -III DWT is decomposed into two length-\(N/2\) type-I DWT's, and the type-IV is converted into two length-\(N/2\) type-II or type-III DWT's.

Transforming Discretion

2022
Abstract Relying on semi-structured interviews with UK sectoral regulators, this chapter opens the ‘black box’ of the regulatory decision-making process and explores the influence of economic evidence and analysis on the regulators’ discretionary economic assessments. The chapter challenges the widely held belief that economic regulation

Discrete signals and transforms. The Z-transform and discrete convolution

1992
Whether signals and spectra are initially in discrete or continuous form, to apply digital computational techniques we need discrete versions of both. The analogue-digital conversion process induces errors (and other errors occur in subsequent computation, such as involve numerical integration, and the truncation of infinite series).

Discrete Gabor transform and discrete Zak transform

1996
Gabor's expansion of a discrete-time signal into a set of shifted and modulated versions of an elementary signal or synthesis window is introduced, along with the inverse operation, i.e. the Gabor transform, which uses an analysis window that is related to the synthesis window and with the help of which Gabor's expansion coefficients can be determined.

Discrete HARWHT and Discrete Fractional HARWHT Transforms

2011
This paper introduces a new transform known as HARWHT. It results from the Kronecker product of the discrete Hartley transform (DHT) and discrete Walsh-Hadamard transform (WHT). The eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the HARWHT transform matrices are presented using Kronecker product.
