Discretisation in Lazy Learning Algorithms
Artificial Intelligence Review, 1997This paper adopts the idea of discretising continuous attributes (Fayyad and Irani 1993) and applies it to lazy learning algorithms (Aha 1990; Aha, Kibler and Albert 1991). This approach converts continuous attributes into nominal attributes at the outset.

Discretisation of Nonautonomous Limit Sets
2017Numerical nonautonomous omega limit sets for nonautonomous ODEs are constructed by using the implicit Euler scheme and shown to converge to the omega limit sets for the ODEs upper semi continuously.

The Asymmetric Gradient Discretisation Method
2017An asymmetric version of the gradient discretisation method is developed for linear anisotropic elliptic equations. Error estimates and convergence are proved for this method, which is showed to cover all finite volume methods.

Discretised standing-wave tyre model
International Journal of Vehicle Design, 2007Highly accurate tyre models are needed to represent the road surface inputs, when conducting analyses of vehicle behaviour and vibration. The most widely used theoretical technique for modelling structures is the finite element method. However, a highly accurate tyre model is difficult to create with the finite element method because tyres have a ...

Discretisation Techniques for Multiphase Flow
Mathematics in Oil Production, 1987The spatial discretisation of finite difference numerical reservoir simulation is reviewed with reference to both areal and vertical description of the reservoir. The complexities of several special fluid flow environments are compared with the standard approach and new discretisation techniques suggested.

Analysis Tools for Gradient Discretisations
2018Analysis tools for GDM are presented. Polytopal toolboxes enable easy proofs of the coercivity, limit-conformity and compactness of gradient discretisations. The notion of local linearly exact gradient discretisations provides ways to analyse the consistency of GDs, as well as precise estimates on the consistency error.

Applications to Discretised Integral Operators
2015The discretisation of integral operators leads to fully populated matrices. In Sections 10.1–10.5, those integral operators are treated which arise from the reformulation of elliptic boundary value problems. The particular case of integral formulations for the Helmholtz equation is studied in Section 10.4.
