Discrete Implementation of a PI Controller for Three-Phase PWM Rectifier
Rectifiers are becoming more prevalent in a wide range of applications, including power supplies for microelectronics, household electrical devices, battery charging, and power conversion in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems ...

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

An improvement of the product integration method for a weakly singular Hammerstein equation
We present a new method to solve nonlinear Hammerstein equations with weakly singular kernels. The process to approximate the solution, followed usually, consists in adapting the discretization scheme from the linear case in order to obtain a nonlinear ...

A Discretization of the Nonholonomic Chaplygin Sphere Problem
The celebrated problem of a non-homogeneous sphere rolling over a horizontal plane was proved to be integrable and was reduced to quadratures by Chaplygin.

DISCRETE DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING [PDF]
We consider a system with a finite number $S$ of states $s$, labeled by the integers $1, 2, \cdots, S$. Periodically, say once a day, we observe the current state of the system, and then choose an action $a$ from a finite set $A$ of possible actions. As a joint result of the current state $s$ and the chosen action $a$, two things happen: (1) we receive
