BETTER ALTERNATIVES FOR STEPWISE DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2015
Discriminant Analysis can best be defined as a technique which allows the classification of an individual into several dictinctive populations on the basis of a set of measurements.

Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Trigger Immunomodulatory Effects in Human Broncho‐Epithelial Cells by Modulating Eicosanoid Lipid Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

Neuroprotective Effects of Time‐Restricted Feeding Combined With Different Protein Sources in MPTP‐Induced Parkinson's Disease Mice Model and Its Modulatory Impact on Gut Microbiota Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) exerts protein‐dependent neuroprotective effects in an MPTP‐induced Parkinson's disease model. In casein‐fed mice, TRF improves gut barrier integrity and reduces neuroinflammation, possibly via modulation of Allobaculum and BCAAs.

Altitudinal distribution and quantitative vegetation analysis of the monocotyledonous flora in Mt. Pangasugan, Leyte, Philippines

open access: yesAnnals of Tropical Research, 2001
The attitudinal distribution of monocotyledonous species in Mt. Pangasugan, Leyte, Philippines was described. Quantitative vegetation analysis to evaluate attitudinal effect was also done from the four sites established in the western side of the ...

Alternative Pathway for Methyl Supply through the Coupling of SHMT1 and PEMT to Maintain Astrocytic Homeostasis in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In Parkinson's disease, SHMT1 downregulation disrupts its interaction with PEMT in astrocytes, reducing SAM levels. This leads to H3K4me1 hypomethylation and decreased Slc1a2/Glul expression, ultimately exacerbating neuroexcitotoxicity and dopaminergic neuron loss.

Influence of observations on the misclassification probability in quadratic discriminant analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper it is studied how observations in the training sample affect the misclassification probability of a quadratic discriminant rule. An approach based on partial influence functions is followed.

Spatially Resolved Multiomics Reveals Metabolic Remodeling and Autophagy Activation in Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngiomas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiomics integration analysis reveals the “cystic fluid–tumor cell” metabolic coupling that mediates active choline/ethanolamine uptake of tumor cells from cystic fluid and PC/PE synthesis pathways reprogramming that mediating autophagy pathway activation within ACP. ABSTRACT Adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP), a benign yet highly recurrent and

Universal Solvent Escape Strategies for Efficient Curing of Hydrogen‐Bond‐Rich 3D Printing Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a new 3D printing method for hydrogen‐bonded polymers by combining solvent replacement, nanoparticles, and optimized printing paths. This allows fast, precise scaffold fabrication. The scaffolds can be easily customized and release therapeutic agents slowly through protonation, enabling personalized bone, blood vessel, and nerve ...
