Combining Generative and Discriminative Approaches to Unsupervised Dependency Parsing via Dual Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Unsupervised dependency parsing aims to learn a dependency parser from unannotated sentences. Existing work focuses on either learning generative models using the expectation-maximization algorithm and its variants, or learning discriminative models using the discriminative clustering algorithm.

A Force Myography (FMG) Armband Based on Micro‐Structured Textile‐Pressure Sensors for Human‐Machine Interface (HMI)

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This study introduces a textile‐based capacitive pressure sensor featuring a triangular prism microstructure, which significantly enhances sensitivity to 5.52% kPa−¹ and supports a wide sensing range up to 330 kPa. The sensor's performance is validated in a 4‐channel capacitive pressure‐based force myography (cFMG) armband for gesture recognition ...

Decoupling Anomaly Discrimination and Representation Learning: Self-supervised Learning for Anomaly Detection on Attributed Graph

open access: yesData Science and Engineering
Anomaly detection on attributed graphs is a crucial topic for practical applications. Existing methods suffer from semantic mixture and imbalance issue because they commonly optimize the model based on the loss function for anomaly discrimination, mainly

Discriminative Embedding Autoencoder with a Regressor Feedback for Zero-Shot Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Zero-shot learning (ZSL) aims to recognize the novel object categories using the semantic representation of categories, and the key idea is to explore the knowledge of how the novel class is semantically related to the familiar classes. Some typical models are to learn the proper embedding between the image feature space and the semantic space, whilst ...

Non‐Invasive Diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy by Breath

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
The use of sensor technologies for the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in breath samples. By combining gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) and electronic nose (eNose) platforms, specific VOC patterns associated with HCM are detected and analyzed.

Adversarial Learning of Label Dependency: A Novel Framework for Multi-class Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Recent work has shown that exploiting relations between labels improves the performance of multi-label classification. We propose a novel framework based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) to model label dependency. The discriminator learns to model label dependency by discriminating real and generated label sets.
