Processes underlying rabies virus incursions across US–Canada Border as revealed by whole-genome phylogeography [PDF]

open access: yes
Disease control programs aim to constrain and reduce the spread of infection. Human disease interventions such as wildlife vaccination play a major role in determining the limits of a pathogen’s spatial distribution.

Epidemic trend analysis of SARS‐CoV‐2 in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation countries using modified susceptible‐infected‐recovered predictive model

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
An short‐mid‐long term prediction model has been designed to understand the early dynamics of the COVID‐19 epidemic in the southeast Asian region. Based on the proposed prediction model we estimated the epidemic trend of COVID‐19 outbreak in SAARC countries for 20 days (short term), 90 days (mid‐term), and 180 days (long term), respectively.

Limited sex differences in plastic responses suggest evolutionary conservatism of thermal reaction norms: A meta‐analysis in insects

open access: yesEvolution Letters, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 394-411, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Temperature has a profound effect on the growth and development of ectothermic animals. However, the extent to which ecologically driven selection pressures can adjust thermal plastic responses in growth schedules is not well understood. Comparing temperature‐induced plastic responses between sexes provides a promising but underexploited ...
