Predicting the chemical composition of urinary calculi in vivo using gray scale ultrasound

open access: yesBMC Urology
Objective The purpose of this study was to preliminarily predict the chemical composition of urinary calculi using ultrasound in vivo. Methods The data of 267 urinary calculi patients were analyzed retrospectively, including non-contrast computed ...

A pilot metabolomics study on clear cell renal cell carcinoma

open access: yesBMC Urology
Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is fundamentally a metabolic disease. To investigate the underlying metabolite changes in the occurrence of ccRCC, we analyzed untargeted metabolomics of 15 ccRCC samples and paired adjacent non-malignant renal ...

Single‐Cell Sequencing Reveals That CD4+ T Cells Eliminate Senescent Prostate Epithelium to Delay Progression of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 10, October 2025.
Senescent BPH epithelial cells secrete CXCL13 to recruit CD4+ T cells via CXCR5. Cytotoxic CD4+ T cells eliminate senescent cells through MHC‐II–dependent recognition. Tregs suppress, while B cells show minimal effect. This immune axis modulates senescent cell clearance and may influence BPH progression.

Pelvic organ‐sparing robot‐assisted radical cystectomy in women with bladder cancer

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 136, Issue 4, Page 747-754, October 2025.
Objectives To investigate the oncological and complication outcomes in women who have undergone pelvic organ‐sparing robot‐assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). Patients and Methods We conducted a retrospective, multicentre cohort study of women with bladder cancer undergoing RARC with intracorporeal urinary diversion.

Establishing the role of single‐stage preputial spiral graft urethroplasty for panurethral stricture

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 136, Issue 4, Page 640-646, October 2025.
Objective To assess whether single‐stage preputial spiral graft urethroplasty (PSGU) minimises panurethral stricture (PUS) recurrence, which often result from traditional multiple grafting for anterior urethral strictures exceeding 10 cm. Patients and Methods We prospectively collected 114 patients with PUS treated with single‐stage PSGU across five ...

Systematic review of PSA reference intervals in the gender diverse population with prostates

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 136, Issue 4, Page 568-577, October 2025.
Objectives To determine mean/median serum total prostate‐specific antigen (PSA) levels in transgender women and non‐binary people with prostates (TWNBPP) who have received gender‐affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) or an orchidectomy. The secondary objective was to identify other quantitative information that influences PSA levels in this population ...

Prognostic and Predictive Value of Machine Learning‐Based Biomarker and Pathomics Signatures in Patients With Prostate Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 10, Page 2893-2906, October 2025.
This study develops a metastasis‐associated prognostic risk score (MAPRS), based on multicenter transcriptome data and machine learning algorithms, and validates it using histopathological samples. MAPRS effectively predicts recurrence‐free survival (RFS) and progression‐free survival (PFS) in prostate cancer patients, particularly when combined with ...
