NOCICEPTIN/ORPHANIN FQ RECEPTOR LIGANDS: PHARMACOLOGICAL STUDIES
The neuropeptide nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) selectively binds and activates the N/OFQ peptide (NOP) receptor. At cellular level N/OFQ inhibits cAMP accumulation and Ca2+ conductance and stimulates K+ currents.
