Stereo Image Matching Using Adaptive Morphological Correlation
A stereo matching method based on adaptive morphological correlation is presented. The point correspondences of an input pair of stereo images are determined by matching locally adaptive image windows using the suggested morphological correlation that is

Motion estimation from disparity images [PDF]
A new method for 3D rigid motion estimation from stereo is proposed in this paper. The appealing feature of this method is that it directly uses the disparity images obtained from stereo matching. We assume that the stereo rig has parallel cameras and show, in that case, the geometric and topological properties of the disparity images.

A hierarchical genetic disparity estimation algorithm for multiview image synthesis [PDF]
A hierarchical genetic algorithm for disparity estimation is presented. The goal, to estimate reliable disparity fields with low computational cost, is reached using a hierarchical genetic matching procedure.

DEEP LEARNING FOR MONOCULAR DEPTH ESTIMATION FROM UAV IMAGES [PDF]
Depth is an essential component for various scene understanding tasks and for reconstructing the 3D geometry of the scene. Estimating depth from stereo images requires multiple views of the same scene to be captured which is often not possible when ...

Hierarchical Stereo Matching in Two-Scale Space for Cyber-Physical System
Dense disparity map estimation from a high-resolution stereo image is a very difficult problem in terms of both matching accuracy and computation efficiency. Thus, an exhaustive disparity search at full resolution is required.

In-Band Disparity Compensation for Multiview Image Compression and View Synthesis [PDF]
This paper presents a novel framework to achieve scalable multiview image compression and view synthesis. The open-loop wavelet-lifting scheme for geometric filtering has been exploited to achieve signal-to-noise ratio scalability and view-type ...

A joint motion & disparity motion estimation technique for 3D integral video compression using evolutionary strategy [PDF]
3D imaging techniques have the potential to establish a future mass-market in the fields of entertainment and communications. Integral imaging, which can capture true 3D color images with only one camera, has been seen as the right technology to offer ...

Motion and disparity estimation with self adapted evolutionary strategy in 3D video coding [PDF]
Real world information, obtained by humans is three dimensional (3-D). In experimental user-trials, subjective assessments have clearly demonstrated the increased impact of 3-D pictures compared to conventional flat-picture techniques. It is reasonable,

Human use of horizontal disparity for perception and visuomotor control [PDF]
Our eyes are horizontally separated in the head by approximately 6.5cm. As a result of this separation there are subtle differences in the position of corresponding image points within the two eyes.
