Vibrational Exfoliation of 2D Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Vibrational energy folds, fractures and exfoliates atomically and molecularly thin materials. Combining experimentation and computational methods, this unique vibrational synthesis pathway is revealed. This process overcomes barriers of existing approaches by processing 1000 g/L dispersions without loss in yield.

Clarifying the murk: unveiling bacterial dynamics in response to crude oil pollution, Corexit-dispersant, and natural sunlight in the Gulf of Mexico

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
The 2010 Deepwater Horizon (DwH) Oil spill released an enormous volume of oil into the Gulf of Mexico (GoM), prompting the widespread use of chemical dispersants like Corexit® EC9500A.

Spectroscopic Signatures of Doping in Thin Films of Semiconducting Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review presents an overview of the spectroscopic changes of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes upon chemical, electrochemical or electrostatic doping. The presence of holes or electrons directly affects visible to far‐infrared absorption, near‐infrared fluorescence and electroluminescence as well as Raman spectra, which enables in‐situ ...

Preparation of Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 Suspension and the Coating Microstructure Based on Suspension Plasma Spraying

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao
Purposes The strain tolerance of Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 (BMT) thermal barrier coating prepared by conventional atmospheric plasma spraying is low. Methods With suspension plasma spraying (SPS), BMT suspensions with different compositions are prepared by ...

Zincophilic Porous Carbon Interface with Dendrite‐Free Zinc Deposition via Selective Ion Regulation for Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A multifunctional zincophilic porous carbon (ZPC) layer is engineered as a protective layer for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs). The ZPC layer guides Zn2+ diffusion and desolvation through ion adsorption sites. Also, its polar functional groups enhance interfacial adhesion and redox activity.

Understanding the Effect of Dispersant Rheology and Binder Decomposition on 3D Printing of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

open access: yesMicromachines
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are a green energy technology that offers a cleaner and more efficient alternative to fossil fuels. The efficiency and utility of SOFCs can be enhanced by fabricating miniaturized component structures within the fuel cell ...
