Inkjet Printing Towards Dense Spinel Protective Coatings for Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) Applications

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop a dense protective coating of Mn1.7Cu1.3O4 spinel on SOC interconnects using inkjet printing. The work focused on formulating a well‐dispersed, stable, and agglomerate‐free ink to obtain a dense, uniform, and full surface coating layer. Achieving a dense layer, requires an ink with high powder content.

Thermodynamics of Interfaces for Sustainable Ceramics

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper explores the thermodynamics of interfaces in sustainable ceramics, emphasizing the crucial role of thermodynamic principles in predicting the properties and processing of ceramic materials. Concerning the concept of “exergy,” which quantifies the minimum work required for ceramic fabrication, it emphasizes the necessity of ...

Reactivity Evolution of Mechanochemically Activated Laterite Used as a Supplementary Cementitious Material

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The use of laterite soil with high Al and Fe content has been investigated as a novel supplementary cementitious material (SCM) to replace traditional mineral materials for clinker substitution. High‐energy ball milling was used to mechanochemically activate laterite and change its reactivity.
