Nonlinear optical properties of push–pull polyenes for electro-optics [PDF]
Improved nonlinear organic chromophores of varying conjugation length with either thiobarbituric acid or 3-dicyanomethylene-2,3-dihydrobenzothiophene-1,1-dioxide (FORON® Blue) acceptors have been synthesized and investigated for their nonlinear optical ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Disperse Yellow Dye: An Emerging Professional Sensitizer in Contact Allergy Dermatitis
Disperse dyes are well known as common sensitizers in contact allergy dermatitis. Disperse yellow 3 is usually adopted in the textile industry for dying synthetic fibers, but is also used in hair dyes and for colouring plastic materials.

Micro mixer with fast diffusion [PDF]
A concept for micromixing of liquid is introduced, and its feasibility is demonstrated. The mixer allows fast mixing of small amounts of two liquids and is applicable to microliquid handling systems.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Polyester is the most widely used textile fibre, accounting for around 54% of global fibre production. However, less than 1% of clothing is recycled into new textiles, largely due to dyes that reduce the quality of recovered fibres.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Allergic Contact Dermatitis Induced by Textile Necklace
Allergic contact dermatitis to textile dyes is considered to be a rare phenomenon. A recent review reported a prevalence of contact allergy to disperse dyes between 0.4 and 6.7%.

Modelling of polyester fabric dyeing in the presence of ultrasonic waves [PDF]
In this paper, modelling of dyeing, i.e. adsorptive behaviour of disperse dyes on polyester fibres (dyeing), under the influence of ultrasound has been considered with the aim of getting the data about mechanisms of binding the dyes and defining the ...
