Research of dispersion characteristics of optical glass
Dispersion characteristics of optical glass are considered. An approach to research of dispersion characteristics of optical glass is proposed, requiring the measurement of the refractive index at only three wavelengths, which simplifies the measurement ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Pay Dispersion and Work Performance [PDF]
The effect of intra-firm pay dispersion on work performance is controversial and the empirical evidence is mixed. High pay dispersion may act as an extra incentive for employees' effort or it may reduce motivation and team cohesiveness. These effects can

Dispersion-Diversity Multicore Fiber Signal Processing
Beyond playing a primary role in high-capacity communication networks, multicore optical fibers can bring many advantages to optical and microwave signal processing, as not only space but also chromatic dispersion are introduced as new degrees of freedom.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

DETERMINATION OF GRANULOMETRIC COMPOSITION OF PULVERIZED COAL BY AUTOMATED SYSTEM
The method of granulometric composition determination of dry powders by a shadow method in the automated system of determination of quantitative structure is described. The granulometric analysis of coal-dust fuel particles is carried out.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Inflation and Wage Dispersion [PDF]
A large body of empirical work has demonstrated that higher inflation, especially when it is unexpected, leads to greater dispersion in the distribution of price changes across subaggregates.

Connecting dispersion models and wall temperature prediction for laminar and turbulent flows in channels [PDF]
In a former paper, Drouin et al. (2010) proposed a model for dispersion phenomena in heated channels that works for both laminar and turbulent regimes. This model, derived according to the double averaging procedure, leads to satisfactory predictions of ...

How can the geographic dispersion of a social entity be used as a “spatial resource”? The notion of the spatial resource deserves to be elaborated: tomyknowledge, it has never been defined as such before. Yet it is especially applicable to the study of how international migrants organize certain movements of people and material or immaterial goods in ...
