Dispersive radiation and regime switching of oscillating bound solitons in twin-core fibers near zero-dispersion wavelength [PDF]
We study resonant radiation generated by bound solitons in a twin-core fiber near zero-dispersion wavelength, in the presence of higher order dispersion terms. We propose a theoretical description of dispersive wave generation mechanism and derive resonance conditions.

The movement of contaminants and biota within river channels is influenced by the flow field via various processes of dispersion. Understanding and modeling of these processes thus can facilitate applications ranging from the prediction of travel times ...

On the notion of dispersion: from dispersion to diversity [PDF]
Summary Dispersion and diversity are two variants of the notion of biological variation that are often not properly distinguished even though they address intrinsically disparate aspects. Dispersion focuses on the assessment of (variable) differences among individuals or types, while diversity focuses on the assessment of numbers of distinct types ...

Strategies for dispersion of cariogenic biofilms: applications and mechanisms
Bacteria residing within biofilms are more resistant to drugs than planktonic bacteria. They can thus play a significant role in the onset of chronic infections.

A generally applicable atomic-charge dependent London dispersion correction.
The so-called D4 model is presented for the accurate computation of London dispersion interactions in density functional theory approximations (DFT-D4) and generally for atomistic modeling methods.

Dispersion-managed soliton in optical fibers with zero average dispersion [PDF]
The dispersion-managed (DM) optical system with step-wise periodical variation of dispersion is studied in the framework of path-averaged Gabitov-Turitsyn equation. The soliton solution is obtained by iterating the path-averaged equation. The dependence of soliton parameters on dispersion map strength is investigated together with the oscillating tails
