Derivative Dispersion Relations
We discuss some analytical and numerical aspects related to the replacement of integral dispersion relations by derivative relations and also the practical applicability of the derivative approach in the investigation of high-energy elastic hadron-hadron

A Wideband Dielectric Waveguide-Based 160-GHz Radar Target Generator
The increasing number of radar sensors in commercial and industrial products leads to a growing demand for system functionality tests. Conventional test procedures require expensive anechoic chambers to provide a defined test environment for radar ...

Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Tracer Dispersion in Rough Open Cracks [PDF]
Tracer dispersion is studied in an open crack where the two rough crack faces have been translated with respect to each other. The different dispersion regimes encountered in rough-wall Hele-Shaw cell are first introduced, and the geometric dispersion ...

Entropy Production in Pipeline Flow of Dispersions of Water in Oil
Entropy production in pipeline adiabatic flow of water-in-oil emulsions is investigated experimentally in three different diameter pipes. The dispersed-phase (water droplets) concentration of emulsion is varied from 0 to 41% vol.

Canceling and inverting normal and anomalous group-velocity dispersion using space-time wave packets [PDF]
Angular dispersion can counterbalance normal group-velocity dispersion (GVD) that increases the wave-vector length in a dispersive medium. By tilting the wave vector, angular dispersion reduces the axial wave number in this case to match the pre-GVD value.

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Instabilities of dispersion-managed solitons in the normal dispersion regime
Dispersion-managed solitons are reviewed within a Gaussian variational approximation and an integral evolution model. In the normal regime of the dispersion map (when the averaged path dispersion is negative), there are two solitons of different pulse ...
