Assessment of an MASW approach incorporating discrete particle modeling
A Discrete Particle Scheme (DPS) consisting of interacting circular particles is utilised to examine the Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) technique.

We have studied dispersion of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) in the Kretschmann geometry (prism/Ag/dye-doped polymer) in weak, intermediate, and ultra-strong exciton–plasmon coupling regimes. The dispersion curves obtained in the reflection experiment

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Rate dispersion is commonly observed when measuring relaxation in complex media such as solution of a protein. Its origin is often associated to molecular heterogeneity in the system. However, interpretation of rate dispersion is not straightforward, and

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Retrieving Surface Wave Dispersion Curves from Cross-Spread Seismic Acquisition
Three-dimensional (3D) seismic surveys are always more often used both in oil prospection and in near surface problems to handle complex geological structures.

Dispersion is a representative property of low-frequency sound propagation over long distances in shallow-water waveguides, making dispersion curves valuable for geoacoustic inversion. This study focuses on estimating the geoacoustic parameters using the

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Dispersion Curves for Surface Electromagnetic Waves with Damping
The Recent Observation of Back bending in the Dispersion Curves of Surface Plasmons on Silver Can Be Explained by Use of Fresnel\u27s Equations. in the Presence of Damping, the Results of Attenuated-Total-Reflection Measurements Can Be Displayed as ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
