Effect of the sample–electrode contact impedance on the appearance of dispersion in the AC impedance spectroscopy of cement-based materials

Journal of Sustainable Cement-Based Materials, 2018
In this study, two differential methods were used to investigate the effect of the electrode-sample contact impedance on the appearance of dispersion. The results indicated that a large contact impedance can significantly change the dispersion indexes of

Minimal dispersion refractive index profiles

Applied Optics, 1979
The analogy between optics and quantum mechanics is exploited by considering a 2-D quantum system whose Schroedinger equation is closely related to the wave equation for light propagation in an optical fiber. From this viewpoint, Marcatili's condition for minimal-dispersion-refractive-index profiles, and the Olshansky- Keck formula for rms pulse ...

Multidimensional Economic Dispersion Index and Application

Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, 2020
The Gini index is widely used in economics as a measure of inequality with respect to income or wealth.

Development and Validity of Norms for Cognitive Dispersion on the Uniform Data Set 3.0 Neuropsychological Battery.

Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology
OBJECTIVE Cognitive dispersion indexes intraindividual variability in performance across a battery of neuropsychological tests. Measures of dispersion show promise as markers of cognitive dyscontrol and everyday functioning difficulties; however, they ...

Dispersion, Asymmetry and the Gini Index of Inequality

International Economic Review, 1987
This paper focuses on the Gini index and presents two additional features which may be characterized as new indices of location and skewness. In section 2, a fast computation algorithm of the Gini index is shown. This algorithm demonstrates that Gini's index belongs to the class of relative mean deviations.

Refractive Index Determination using an Orthogonalized Dispersion Equation

Optical Interference Coatings, 1988
The refractive index n and thickness t of a thin-film coating can be determined from ellipsometric measurements of light reflected from the film. If data are taken over a broad range of wavelengths, then a range of values of n and t are obtained. The variation in n is expected and is a measure of the dispersion of the material.

Negative refractive index and anomalous dispersion

Optik, 2006
Media with negative index of refraction are discussed briefly within Sellmeier model. In particular, dispersion of light waves is found to be anomalous and the corresponding coefficient of material dispersion is found to be negative. In addition, the group index becomes negative.

Index of Biotal Dispersity

Ecology, 1957
Пространственные взаимоотношения живых организмов анализировались в биологи с акцентом либо на их географических, либо их физиологических аспектах. Эти две области исследования известны как биогеография и экология, хотя существуют разногласия в их определении и сфере применения.

Price dispersion and price indexes

Applied Economics, 2010
The traditional theory of price index numbers is based on the law of one price. But in the real world, we frequently observe the existence of an equilibrium price dispersion instead of one price of equilibrium. This article discusses the effects of price dispersion on two price indexes: the cost of living index and the consumer price index.

Dispersion equalization in ring index fibers

Fiber and Integrated Optics, 1978
Abstract This paper is concerned with investigating the equalization or deterioration properties in fibers with quasi-step and quasi-parabolic ring profiles. The dispersion is evaluated by applying a numerical method previously described and the results are interpreted in terms of the caustics, bounding the trapping mode regions.
