Sensors for Structural Displacement Measurement
8th Optical Fiber Sensors Conference, 1992Displacement measurements in large-scale structures are used to characterize structural response to dynamic excitation. A review of the current applicable sensor technologies presents alternatives to the traditional accelerograph method for obtaining those displacements.

The kinesiographic measurement of jaw displacement
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1980F unctional movements of the jaw have been recorded by a variety of methods including direct observation, cinematography, electromagnetically inductive and photoconductive transducers, and, most recently, radionuclide tracking.‘. :’ During normal movements, the translations and rotations which accompany jaw motion are so complex that only those systems

Interferometer for measuring displacement and distance
Optics Letters, 1987A simple interferometer for measuring both relative displacement and absolute distance is fabricated that uses a laser diode. The sign of the displacement is detected by means of a lambda/8 plate, and the distance is measured by a FM radar technique of modulating the laser-diode frequency.

Measuring characteristics of the displacement cardiograph
Medical & Biological Engineering, 1973The displacement cardiograph (d.c.g.) is a noncontacting electromagnetic transducer that can be used to measure movement of tissue. In normal operation a sensing probe is placed near the moving tissue, and this produces an output voltage. The d.c.g. detects movement by means of the electromagnetic field it generates.

Measurement of nasal displacement by photography
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1992AbstractA simple photographic method of assessing a commonly encountered nasal deformity has been devised. The method described is of use in quantifying a subjective appearance and in assessing the result of surgery.

Nanoscale displacement measurement
International Journal of Nanotechnology, 2019Research in the field of nanotechnology requires high accuracy and reliability of the obtained results, i.e., an appropriate metrological support of instruments and equipment is needed, which is used in the measurement of linear dimensions, movements, speeds and accelerations of nano-objects.

Three-dimensional Measurement of Skin Displacement
2020 IEEE Haptics Symposium (HAPTICS), 2020We propose a method of measuring threedimensional skin displacement when a finger traces a texture. We combine the techniques of index matching and stereoscopy; the former makes the textured plate virtually transparent while the latter allows three-dimensional measurement of markers on the skin.

Polarization interferometer for measuring small displacement
Proceedings of the 17th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference [Cat. No. 00CH37066], 2001A homodyne polarization laser interferometer is presented for high-speed measurement of small displacements. No modulation technique is used, so the opto-mechanical setup is relatively simple. The dual-beam arrangement enables the displacement to be measured while the use of polarization interferometry enables the determination of the directional ...
