Enhancing Surgical Efficiency and Cost‐Effectiveness With TaTME‐Combined Robot‐Assisted Surgery for Lower Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Robot‐assisted rectal surgery (RAS) offers improved dexterity and visualization; however, the high cost of equipment and consumables remains a major challenge for hospital management. At our institution, we have adopted a combined approach using transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) for lower rectal cancers, aiming to shorten ...

Navigating an STI diagnosis: The role of social support, intergenerational learning, and transformative growth among Black women

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Black women face a myriad of challenges that heighten their susceptibility to sexually transmitted infections (STIs), resulting in a disproportionate impact of STIs among this population. Yet, there is a lack of research that explores how women navigate these diagnoses with resilience.

Refining Detection of Subclinical Epileptiform Activity in Alzheimer's Disease: A Case–Control Study and Call for a Consensus

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Sleep‐predominant network hyperexcitability is increasingly recognized as a potential disease‐accelerating comorbidity in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its prevalence and risk‐factors remain debated, largely due to cohort‐specific and methodological differences across studies.

A Multiepitope‐Based Lateral Flow Assay for Leprosy Antibodies

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
An innovative lateral flow assay for leprosy diagnosis is based on gold nanoparticles and synthetic Mycobacterium leprae epitopes conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin protein to enhance antibody detection. This strategy provides a rapid, accurate, and low‐cost approach for resource‐limited settings, enabling the early detection of infection. Leprosy
