Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...Erica Tsang, Brian S. International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology, 2012 El estudio tiene como objetivo el análisis de la contribución de variables sociodemográficas, clínicas, familiares y académicas en la probabilidad de presentar trastorno de comportamiento perturbador (TC). Se utiliza un diseño ex post facto, retrospectivo, transversal, comparativo con dos grupos (casos de TC y controles clínicos).José Antonio López-Villalobos, Jesús Andrés-De Llano, María Isabel Sánchez-Azón, Rosa Sanguino-Andrés, Susana Alberola-López +4 moreopenaire +1 more sourceMultidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.Alice Ballerini, Alessia Casarini, Niccolò Biagioli, Laura Mirandola, Daniela Ballotta, Paul Summers, Simona Scolastico, Laura Madrassi, Maurilio Genovese, Marcella Malagoli, Gaetano Cantalupo, Giada Giovannini, Matteo Pugnaghi, Niccolò Orlandi, Laura Tassi, Valeria Cuccarini, Domenico Aquino, Elena Tartara, Fulvia Palesi, Giuseppe Didato, Paolo Vitali, the 3TLE Study Group, Roberta Di Giacomo, Fabio Doniselli, Federica Mazzi, Carlo Andrea Galimberti, Claudia A. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objectives
Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.Abdul Jaber Tayem, Angel Liu, Sargis Manukyan, Mustafa Subhi, Elaina Luskin, Bryan Quah, Sreekanth Madhusoodhanan Nair, Arzu C. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods
Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...Xinli Wang, Huiying Wang, Zhizheng Zhuo, Ai Guo, Ke Lv, Decai Tian, Chao Chai, Yunyun Duan, Shuang Xia +8 morewiley +1 more sourceCracking the Code: Genotype–Phenotype Correlation Models in Sarcoglycanopathies
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
Sarcoglycanopathies are among the most severe limb‐girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMD), though milder presentations have been described. These diseases are primarily caused by missense variants, but the limited predictability of their effect on protein maturation, complex formation, and transport has hindered reliable genotype ...Leonela Luce, Goknur Selen Kocak, José Verdú‐Díaz, Jorge Alonso‐Pérez, Kristl G. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objectives
SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.Quinty Bisseling, Mark D. Parker, Sven Kerst, Richard A.
