AbstractA formula for the maximum number of cells formed by planes that dissect a tetrahedron through its edges is established in four ways: by recursion, by a computation using Euler's formula V − E + F − C = 1, as a special case of a general partition formula due to S.

To visualize a higher dimensional object it is convenient to consider its two-dimensional cross-sections. The set of quantum states for a three level system has eight dimensions. We supplement a recent paper by Goyal et al by considering the set of all possible two-dimensional cross-sections of the qutrit.

PT-Scotch: A tool for efficient parallel graph ordering [PDF]
The parallel ordering of large graphs is a difficult problem, because on the one hand minimum degree algorithms do not parallelize well, and on the other hand the obtainment of high quality orderings with the nested dissection algorithm requires ...

Cerebral Artery Dissection: Spectrum of Clinical Presentations Related to Angiographic Findings [PDF]
PurposeCerebral arterial dissections are recognized as a common cause of stroke. However, few studies have reported on the distribution of cerebral arterial dissection and angiographic pattern related to the presenting clinical symptom pattern.

A case of acute aortic dissection type b associated with cushing's syndrome [PDF]
We report a case of a 63-year-old man, with a previous history of hypertension and glucose intolerance associated troncular obesity that was emergently admitted to our Institution for evaluation of a severe, constant posterior chest pain which radiated ...

A 3D‐printable device allowing fast and reproducible longitudinal preparation of mouse intestines
Accurate and reproducible analysis of murine small and large intestinal tissue is key for preclinical models involving intestinal pathology. Currently, there is no easily accessible, standardized method that allows researchers of different skill levels ...

Dissecting Representations [PDF]
Choosing effective representations for a problem and for the person solving it has benefits, including the ability or inability to solve it. We previously devised a novel framework consisting of a language to describe representations and computational methods to analyse them in terms of their formal and cognitive properties.

Aortic Dissection and Dissecting Aortic Aneurysms
Operation was employed in the treatment of 546 patients for complications of aortic dissection during the 32-year period of 1956-1988. Current concepts and operative techniques evolved during this period. Fortunately, about half the patients were treated during the latter 4 years, as modern therapy became standardized.

Aortic root enlargement is generally asymptomatic, with few clinical clues, but may be observed as an incidental finding on a chest x‐ray, echocardiogram, or contrast‐enhanced computerized tomogram of the chest. Aortic dissection is one of the most feared complications of hypertension.
