Norbornene‐based copolymers with tunable n‐alkyl pendant length provide control over matrix free volume, enabling elastomeric materials via frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP). ABSTRACT Frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP) enables rapid, energy‐efficient access to high‐performance thermosets and thermoplastics, but ...

Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Liquids as Reinforcements for Anisotropic and Tough Soft Matter Composites
Liquid metal droplets are shaped and oriented within soft elastomers to create all‐soft matter composites with programmable mechanical anisotropy. These liquid inclusions act as fiber‐like reinforcements, enabling directional stiffness, enhanced toughness, and controlled crack steering under extreme deformation, offering new routes to resilient soft ...

Laser Texturing and Dissimilar Material Joining
Laser texturing is a process used to remove material selectively. Metallic parts were processed in order to create a surface texture that enables metal-polymer joining. This kind of dissimilar joining is carried out combining a pressure fixture and heating using a direct diode laser source. In order to reach a good result, it is critical to texture the
