External and Internal Cracking Caused by Heat Treatment in Laser Powder Bed Fusion‐Fabricated Inconel 738LC Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.

Resource‐Aware Contrastive Scattering Meta‐Learning for Efficient Few‐Shot Acoustic Anomaly Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a resource‐aware Contrastive Scattering Meta‐Learning (CSML) framework for acoustic anomaly detection. By leveraging training‐free wavelet scattering and metric‐based meta‐learning, the model achieves competitive performance with only 50 K learnable parameters—a 98% reduction compared to state‐of‐the‐art frameworks—enabling ...

Ultra Short Pulse Laser Welding of Glass to Metal in the Low Fluence Regime

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Ultrashortpulse laser welding enables precise joining of glass and metal with minimal thermal damage. We introduce the TwoThresholds Criteria to identify suitable laser parameters by combining the nonlinearabsorption threshold in glass with the metalmodification fluence threshold.

Formation mechanism of macrosegregation in dissimilar-filler welding of aluminum alloys

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Dissimilar-filler welding is widely used for joining aluminum components. However, macrosegregation that will degrade the performance of the weld joint commonly occurs within the weld metal, because of the compositional difference between the filler and ...

Evolution and formation of dissimilar metal interfaces in fusion welding

open access: yesActa Materialia, 2023
The evolving interface forms between two different liquids during dissimilarmetal welding can critically influence the development of the as solidified microstructure and determine the mechanical properties of the joint. To investigate the interface evolution mechanisms during arc welding , time resolved X radiography was employed.
