Properties and optimization of dissimilar aluminum steel CMT welds

open access: yesWelding in the World, 2016
Robotic cold metal transfer (CMT) welding was recently suggested as a feasible process for joining of aluminum to steel for automotive applications. To promote an understanding of the process and the effect of process parameters on joint properties for selected sheets, CMT welding experiments have been performed.

Friction Stir Welding of Dissimilar Metal: A Review

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2018
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state welding process which produces welds due to the compressive force contact of work pieces which are either rotating or moving relative to each other. The heat required to join different specimens is generated by heating due to friction at the interface.

Welding of dissimilar metals in different welding positions

open access: yes, 2016
The three boiling water reactors (BWR) in Oskarshamn produce about 10 % of the electrical power in Sweden. The combination of intense radiation fluxes and high temperatures in nuclear reactors creates an extraordinary environment. Therefore, a number of material challenges arise at a nuclear power plant that needs to be solved in order to maintain the ...
