Laser Welding of High-Strength CP Steels: Dissimilar Welds
Key Engineering Materials, 2015The paper explores laser welding of high-strength CP-W® 800 steel and forged steel. Dissimilar welds were produced with different welding parameters. Two welding beam diameters were used. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the resulting welds were examined.

Microstructures and electrochemical behaviors of the friction stir welding dissimilar weld
Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2011By using optical microscope, the microstructures of 5083/6082 friction stir welding (FSW) weld and parent materials were analyzed. Meanwhile, at ambient temperature and in 0.2 mol/L NaHS03 and 0.6 mol/L NaCl solutionby gravimetric test, potentiodynamic polarization curve test, electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and scanning electron microscope ...

Welding Residual Stress Solutions for Dissimilar Metal Surge Line Nozzle Welds
Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2008At the end of 2006, defects were identified using ultrasonic testing in three of the pressurizer nozzle dissimilar metal (DM) welds at the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant. Understanding welding residual stress is important in the evaluation of why and how these defects occur, which in turn helps to determine the reliability of nuclear power plants. This

Welding joints in dissimilar metals
Welding International, 2011Dissimilar metal and alloy weldability determination is based on the estimation of their bases interaction, at the same time the effect of the primary alloying element is also taken into consideration if possible. Qualitative joint production and prevention of intermetallic formation is determined to a large extent by the dissolution and following ...

Friction welding of dissimilar pure metals
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007Abstract Joining of dissimilar metals is one of the most essential needs of industries. Dissimilar metal combinations Fe–Ti, Cu–Ti, Fe–Cu, Fe–Ni and Cu–Ni have been investigated in the present work as Fe, Cu, Ti and Ni are the most extensively used materials in engineering application in the alloyed form. Metals are taken in commercially pure form so
