Packed Hydrogel Microfibers as Scaffolds Supporting Dynamic Cellular Behavior and Biomaterial Inks in 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Packed hydrogel microfiber (PHM) materials consist of flexible and high aspect ratio hydrogel components that, as a bulk material, are simultaneously mechanically robust and dynamic. Cells cultured in or on PHM scaffolds can be influenced by topographical cues or interact with a dynamic environment that permits cell spreading and multicellular ...

Natural Biomaterials for Osteochondral Repair: From Source to Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biological origin‐guided overview of natural biomaterials and therapeutic strategies for osteochondral tissue engineering. The circular diagram categorizes representative materials and strategies into plant/algae‐derived, microbial‐derived, animal‐derived, and human‐derived sources, centered on an osteochondral defect repair model.

Nonequilibrium transport through an interacting monitored quantum dot

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We study the interplay between strong correlations and Markovian dephasing, resulting from monitoring the charge or spin degrees of freedom of a quantum dot described by a dissipative Anderson impurity model. Using the auxiliary master equation approach,

A three-dimensional problem on forced resonant vibrations and dissipative heating of a hollow cone of viscoelastic material

open access: yes, 2013
На основе концепции комплексных характеристик представлена постановка связанной краевой задачи термовязкоупругости о вынужденных гармонических колебаниях и диссипативном разогреве вязкоупругой конической панели при действии на нее нормального внешнего ...

Microsphere‐Templated Conductive Syntactic Foams for Recyclable and Additively Manufactured Soft Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

A Dissipative Coulomb Model for Dense Granular Flows

open access: yes, 2008
We address the slow, dense flow of granular materials as a continuum with the incompressible Navier‐Stokes equations plus the fluctuating energy balance including granular temperature.

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Heating a plasma by means of magnetic pumping

open access: yes, 1965
We present two models for the heating of a cylindrical plasma by an oscillating magnetic field. The model for collisional heating, applicable at low temperatures and high densities, is extended to include dissipative effects.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
