Characterization of Viscous Dissipative Heating in the Earth's Mantle Caused by Surface Forces
Viscous dissipative heating has long been discussed as a heat source in solid celestial bodies experiencing exogenic forces such as tidal forcing or surface loading.

Wind observations from a multi-level observation tower are used to estimate the dissipative heating (DH) in three landfalling typhoons. The observations reveal the presence of a stress internal boundary layer (IBL) in the typhoon circulations.

Thermal and dissipative effects on the heating transition in a driven critical system [PDF]
We study the dissipative dynamics of a periodically driven inhomogeneous critical lattice model in one dimension. The closed system dynamics starting from pure initial states is well-described by a driven Conformal Field Theory (CFT), which predicts ...

Deviations of the РТ parameters from the background values, corresponding to the lithostatic pressure and the standard geotherm characteristic of the neighboring crustal blocks of the Yenisei Ridge, were recorded by geothermobarometry in the zones of ...

Controlled heating of a cylindrical plasma using the features of an exceptional point [PDF]
The paper proposes a method of controlled heating of a cylindrical plasma using the features of the Exceptional point. It is shown that the coupled system of plasma and dielectric waveguides is capable of generating exceptional points where their ...

Generative Modelling With Inverse Heat Dissipation
While diffusion models have shown great success in image generation, their noise-inverting generative process does not explicitly consider the structure of images, such as their inherent multi-scale nature. Inspired by diffusion models and the empirical success of coarse-to-fine modelling, we propose a new diffusion-like model that generates images ...

The goal of the paper is to reveal discrepancies of turbulent variables over different surfaces (sea, island, land) based on the measurements taken on three towers during (including before and after) seven typhoon episodes from 2008 to 2018.

Heat Dissipation at Cement Hardening
During the construction of concrete structures of small cross-sections, the release of heat during cement hardening has no harmful effects. With the increasing temperature of the hardening cement mass, the rate of cement hydration increases. This increases the rate of release of its heat of hydration of cement.

Dissipative dynamics in the free massive boson limit of the sine-Gordon model
We study the dissipative dynamics of one-dimensional fermions, described in terms of the sine-Gordon model in its free massive boson or semi-classical limit, while keeping track of forward scattering processes.
