THE FINITE SECTION METHOD FOR DISSIPATIVE OPERATORS [PDF]

open access: yesMathematika, 2014
Summary: We show that for self-adjoint Jacobi matrices and Schrödinger operators, perturbed by dissipative potentials in \(\ell^1 (\mathbb N)\) and \(L^1(0,\infty )\), respectively, the finite section method does not omit any points of the spectrum. In the Schrödinger case, two different approaches are presented.

Exponential stabilty for a Timoshenko system with nonlocal delay

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2020
The purpose of this paper is to study  the Timoshenko system with nonlocal time-delayed condition. The well-posedness is proved  by Hille-Yosida theorem.

Dynamical Invariant and Exact Mechanical Analyses for the Caldirola–Kanai Model of Dissipative Three Coupled Oscillators

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
We study the dynamical invariant for dissipative three coupled oscillators mainly from the quantum mechanical point of view. It is known that there are many advantages of the invariant quantity in elucidating mechanical properties of the system.

The Limit Behavior Of The Trajectories of Dissipative Quadratic Stochastic Operators on Finite Dimensional Simplex

open access: yes, 2011
The limit behavior of trajectories of dissipative quadratic stochastic operators on a finite-dimensional simplex is fully studied. It is shown that any dissipative quadratic stochastic operator has either unique or infinitely many fixed points.

Theory of quantum fluctuations of optical dissipative structures and its application to the squeezing properties of bright cavity solitons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present a method for the study of quantum fluctuations of dissipative structures forming in nonlinear optical cavities, which we illustrate in the case of a degenerate, type I optical parametric oscillator.

Dissipation-induced enhancement of quantum fluctuations

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We study a quantum harmonic oscillator linearly coupled through the position operator $\hat{q}$ to a first bath and through the momentum operator $\hat{p}$ to a second bath yielding an Ohmic–Drude dissipation.

Dimension estimates of the attractor for the dissipative quantum Zakharov equations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
The finite dimension estimates of Hausdorff dimension and fractal dimension of the attractor of the dissipative quantum Zakharov equations are mainly studied by using the estimates of the Lyapunov exponents. The main results on the attractor are obtained

Operator splitting for dissipative delay equations

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate Lie-Trotter product formulae for abstract nonlinear evolution equations with delay. Using results from the theory of nonlinear contraction semigroups in Hilbert spaces, we explain the convergence of the splitting procedure.

Variational principle for theories with dissipation from analytic continuation

open access: yes, 2016
The analytic continuation from the Euclidean domain to real space of the one-particle irreducible quantum effective action is discussed in the context of generalized local equilibrium states.

Dissipative contributions to spin polarization [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Utilizing the Zubarev non-equilibrium density operator method and a first-order gradient expansion, we provide a comprehensive classification of all possible spin polarization effects.
