A CONTINUOUS INTERPOLATION BETWEEN CONSERVATIVE AND DISSIPATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE TWO-COMPONENT CAMASSA–HOLM SYSTEM

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2015
We introduce a novel solution concept, denoted ${\it\alpha}$-dissipative solutions, that provides a continuous interpolation between conservative and dissipative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the two-component Camassa–Holm system on the line with ...

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Efficient Multifunctional Response and Polarization Switching in BiFeO3–PbZr0.58Ti0.42O3–MnFe2O4‐Based Triphasic Composites for Advanced Pulsating Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triphasic BiFeO3–PbZr0.58Ti0.42O3–MnFe2O4 composites exhibit enhanced ferroelectric and magnetic behavior, achieving 70.76% energy‐storage efficiency and improved polarization switching. The coupling between ferroelectric and magnetic phases enables multifunctional performance, making these composites promising candidates for next‐generation energy ...

Influence of Sample Preparation and Processing Procedures on the Thermal Diffusivity of MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Sustainable Synthesis of Bio‐Based Magnetic and Conductive Wood for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Dissipation-free modes in dissipative systems

open access: yesPhysica Scripta
Abstract The coupling between a system and its environment (or bath) always leads to dissipation. We show, however, that a system composed of two subsystems can have a dissipation-free mode, if the bath is shared between the two subsystems. Reading in reverse, a shared bath does not contribute to the dissipation of all modes.

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...
