Double layer potential and degree of dissociation in charged lipid monolayers
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2000One of the contributions to the surface potential in charged phospholipid monolayers at air-water interfaces is the double layer potential. In this note several misconceptions found in the literature concerning the relationship between the double layer potential and the degree of dissociation of the lipid polar headgroups are critically analyzed.

Abstract The molar enthalpy of fusion Δ fus H m of KF · K 2 MoO 4 at the temperature of fusion, 1025 K, was measured in the high-temperature Setaram HTC 1800K calorimeter as 58 ± 2 kJ mol −1 . This quantity, together with the known phase diagram of the system KFK 2 MoO 4 and the composition dependence of the enthalpy of mixing at 1273 K ...

About the degree of dissociation of admolecules on surfaces
Surface Science, 1994Abstract The characteristics of the thermal desorption spectra obtained for isotopic exchange reactions have been related to the degrees of dissociation introduced on a phenomenological basis by Matsushima [Surf. Sci. 157 (1985) 297; 217 (1989) 155]. This formulation leads to an underdetermined system of equations.

The effect of the degree of dissociation on the adsorption kinetics of partially dissociated ionic surfactants was examined theoretically. The equilibrium and dynamic surface tension (ST) curves with different degrees of dissociation were theoretically generated for surfactants following the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Two cases were examined. In the

Degree of Cognitive Impairment and the Dissociation of Implicit and Explicit Memory
The Journal of General Psychology, 1990One group of normal elderly adults and two groups of cognitively impaired elderly adults were compared on an implicit and an explicit memory task. Degree of impairment affected explicit memory; the mildly and moderately impaired elderly adults demonstrated significantly reduced recognition performance. Degree of impairment also affected implicit memory

The Degrees of Dissociation of Weak Multibasic Organic Acids
Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2007New equations for the accurate determination of the degrees of dissociation of weak multibasic organic acids with similar values of the dissociation constants of various steps are suggested and compared with the existing ones. The concept of the partial degree of dissociation of a given step, which more exactly describes the nature of the dissociation ...

Dissociation between Degree of Iodination and Iodoamino Acid Distribution in Thyroglobulin*
Endocrinology, 1978The iodoamino acid distribution in thyroglobulin is known to be largely determined by the degree of iodination of the protein. Data presented in this communication indicate that the degree of iodination is not the sole determinant of iodoamino acid distribution.

Determining degree of dissociation through conductivity
Journal of Emerging InvestigatorsWhen ionic compounds dissolve in a polar solvent, they dissociate into separate ions and spread uniformly throughout the solution. The greater the degree of dissociation of an ionic compound, the greater the conductivity of the solution will be. The goal of this experiment was to assess how the degree of dissociation of an ionic compound is impacted by

Degree of dissociation of apohemoglobin studied by nanosecond fluorescence-polarization technique
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1975A fluorescent dye 1-anilino-8-naphthalene sulfonate was complexed with human apohemoglobin and sperm whale apomyoglobin. Nanosecond fluorescence-polarization kinetics were measured for each of these complexes in KC1 solutions to obtain their fluorescence lifetimes and rotational correlation times.
