About the degree of dissociation of admolecules on surfaces
Surface Science, 1994Abstract The characteristics of the thermal desorption spectra obtained for isotopic exchange reactions have been related to the degrees of dissociation introduced on a phenomenological basis by Matsushima [Surf. Sci. 157 (1985) 297; 217 (1989) 155]. This formulation leads to an underdetermined system of equations.

The Degrees of Dissociation of Weak Multibasic Organic Acids
Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2007New equations for the accurate determination of the degrees of dissociation of weak multibasic organic acids with similar values of the dissociation constants of various steps are suggested and compared with the existing ones. The concept of the partial degree of dissociation of a given step, which more exactly describes the nature of the dissociation ...

Dissociation between Degree of Iodination and Iodoamino Acid Distribution in Thyroglobulin*
Endocrinology, 1978The iodoamino acid distribution in thyroglobulin is known to be largely determined by the degree of iodination of the protein. Data presented in this communication indicate that the degree of iodination is not the sole determinant of iodoamino acid distribution.

Double layer potential and degree of dissociation in charged lipid monolayers
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2000One of the contributions to the surface potential in charged phospholipid monolayers at air-water interfaces is the double layer potential. In this note several misconceptions found in the literature concerning the relationship between the double layer potential and the degree of dissociation of the lipid polar headgroups are critically analyzed.

Degree of dissociation of apohemoglobin studied by nanosecond fluorescence-polarization technique
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1975A fluorescent dye 1-anilino-8-naphthalene sulfonate was complexed with human apohemoglobin and sperm whale apomyoglobin. Nanosecond fluorescence-polarization kinetics were measured for each of these complexes in KC1 solutions to obtain their fluorescence lifetimes and rotational correlation times.

The “Partial” Degrees of Dissociation of Weak Multibasic Organic Acids
Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2009New equations are suggested for the direct calculation of the “partial” degrees of dissociation of weak multibasic organic acids with overlapping dissociation equilibria. Considered are weak dibasic and tribasic acids, and the general case of a weak multibasic acid, H n A.

Degree of Cognitive Impairment and the Dissociation of Implicit and Explicit Memory
The Journal of General Psychology, 1990One group of normal elderly adults and two groups of cognitively impaired elderly adults were compared on an implicit and an explicit memory task. Degree of impairment affected explicit memory; the mildly and moderately impaired elderly adults demonstrated significantly reduced recognition performance. Degree of impairment also affected implicit memory

Hydrogen Degree of Dissociation in a Low Pressure Tandem Plasma Source
Spectroscopy Letters, 2011ABSTRACT Hydrogen dissociation degree in an inductively-driven tandem plasma source, operating at low pressure, is measured by applying optical actinometry method with an argon gas as actinometer. The gas temperature, a parameter in the investigations, is obtained from the rotational temperature, analyzing the intensity distribution of the Fulcher-α ...

Degree of Dissociation of Aqueous Perchloric Acid Determined by Raman Spectrophotometry
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1965The degree of dissociation (α) of HClO4 in 2–12M aqueous solutions has been determined by measuring the Raman intensity of the 931-cm−1 ClO4— band. These measurements indicate that the acid is completely dissociated at concentrations up to 8M. Throughout the range of these experiments, α is found to be significantly higher than the values in the ...

Singularity in the degree of dissociation near a critical point
Physical Review A, 1983Anomalies in the degree of dissociation near a critical point of a ternary mixture are analyzed for a reaction of the type $A\ensuremath{\rightleftarrows}B+C$. The concentration-temperature curve has, at the critical point, an infinite slope ${(T\ensuremath{-}{T}_{c})}^{\ensuremath{-}\frac{(\ensuremath{\delta}\ensuremath{-}1)}{\ensuremath{\delta ...
