A Sixteen-year Decline in Dissolved Oxygen in the Central California Current

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
A potential consequence of climate change is global decrease in dissolved oxygen at depth in the oceans due to changes in the balance of ventilation, mixing, respiration, and photosynthesis.

Simulating the onset and spread of anoxic conditions during Cretaceous OAE2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A new model of the global atmosphere-ocean-continent-mantle system was set-up to investigate the triggering of the Oceanic Anoxic Event OAE2 through volcanic degassing processes at large igneous provinces (LIPs).

Using dissolved oxygen concentrations to determine mixed layer depths in the Bellingshausen Sea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Concentrations of oxygen (O2) and other dissolved gases in the oceanic mixed layer are often used to calculate air-sea gas exchange fluxes. The mixed layer depth (<i>z</i>mix) may be defined using

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

THE INFLUENCE OF PONDS ON DISSOLVED OXYGEN IN SMALL RIVERS OF BERRY (FRANCE) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The influence of ponds on dissolved oxygen in small rivers of Berry (France). Water temperature and oxygen saturation are two major indicators of water quality in surface hydrology.

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Oxygen Measurement in Cuprate Superconductors Using the Dissolved Oxygen/Chlorine Method

open access: yesTechnologies
We have developed a dissolved oxygen (DO) method with differential equation (DE) correction. We measured the oxygen content in La-based and Y-based superconductors, and succeeded in measuring the oxygen content simply in one-third of the time required by

A survey of the marine environment near the city of Goleta ocean outfall [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
The California Department of Fish and Game and the State Water Resources Control Board (through Regional Board #3, Central Coast) entered into an agreement whereby Department biologist-divers conducted a subtidal ecological investigation of the marine ...

In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Electrochemical corrosion behaviors of 316L stainless steel used in PWR primary pipes

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2017
The effects of temperature and Cl-and dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations on the electrochemical corrosion behaviors of 316L stainless steel used in pressurized water reactor primary pipes were investigated via a composite design strategy ...
