Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Numerical Solution of a 3-D Advection-Dispersion Model for Dissolved Oxygen Distribution in Facultative Ponds

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper describes a mathematical model for the dissolved oxygen distribution in the plane of a facultative pond with a certain depth. The purpose of this paper is to determine the variation of dissolved oxygen concentration in facultative ponds. The 3-

Investigating the role that the Southern Ocean biological pump plays in determining global ocean oxygen concentrations and deoxygenation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Global ocean circulation connects marine biogeochemical cycles through the long-range transport of nutrients and oxygen with the Southern Ocean (SO) acting as a water mass crossroads. The biological pump in the SO has been shown to play an important role

Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Biosensor Based on Hairy Particles with Controllable High Enzyme Loading and Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,

The effect of hydraulic jump on the aeration efficiency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
One of the most important parameters to determine the quality of water is the amount of the dissolved oxygen (DO) in water body. Microorganisms as bacteria need high concentration of oxygen in water to the able to continue their lives healthfully.

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.
