Dissolved Oxygen

2022
Abstract This chapter discusses the chemistry of dissolved oxygen (DO), which plays a critical role in regulating the redox chemistry of natural waters. DO concentrations are controlled by a range of chemical and biological redox processes and by physical factors that affect O2 solubility and transfer rates across the air-water interface.

DOxy: Dissolved Oxygen Monitoring

2020 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC), 2020
Dissolved Oxygen (DO) in water is the enabler of all marine life. As low oxygen levels are the first sign of contamination and distress in bodies of water, measuring its levels are the first step in discovery and preservation efforts. Furthermore, fish farms, aquariums, and other aquaculture are in need of continued dissolved oxygen monitoring and ...

Dissolved oxygen electrodes

1979
Recent advances in theory, construction, operation, and application of dissolved oxygen (DO) electrodes are reviewed to assist those who use or intend to use them in such areas as biochemical engineering, microbiology, and environmental engineering. Basic operating principles of membrane-covered DO electrodes and oxygen microelectrodes are presented ...

Automatic Dissolved Oxygen Control

Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division, 1977
A manual describing design procedures and guidelines for the selection of aeration equipment and dissolved oxygen (DO) control systems for activated sludge treatment plants is summarized. Aeration methods, equipment, and application techniques are examined and selection procedures presented. Various DO control systems are described with recommendations
