Functional outcome of distal end radius fractures managed with variable-angle locking plates: A prospective study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology, 2022
Introduction: Management of distal end radius intraarticular fractures is difficult to manage and these fractures account for 10% of all fractures. Multiple treatment options ranging from conservative to internal fixation, of which volar plate fixation ...

Spatiotemporal Drug Delivery via a Neonatal Spinal Cord ECM Hydrogel for Biomimetic Microenvironment Remodeling After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A biomimetic hydrogel derived from neonatal spinal cord ECM (DNSCM) delivers LAMB2 protein and ISP peptide to remodel the inhibitory injury microenvironment. The system sustains drug release, upregulates pro‐regenerative LAMB2, downregulates inhibitory CSPG, and promotes axonal regeneration.

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...

Functional outcome of intra-articular fracture of distal end of radius treated by open reduction and internal fixation with locking distal radius system

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology, 2021
Background: There is alays been a dilemma in the treatment of intra-articular distal radius fracture (DRF). Close reduction and cast application gives satisfactory result in extra-articular Distal Radial Fractures but there is alays been debate beteen ...

Dual‐Functional Ingestible Passive Capsules for High‐Throughput Intestinal Sampling with Sealed Containment and Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
To address challenges in high‐throughput intestinal sampling with sealed containment and target drug delivery, we developed a dual‐functional ingestible passive capsule with a dual‐triggered control system based on pH‐response and mechanical actuation.

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

Intra-articular fracture distal end radius external fixation versus locking volar radius plate: A comparative study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Rehabilitation, 2019
Introduction: The purpose of the present study was to compare the results obtained by management of intra-articular fractures of distal end radius with closed reduction and external fixation versus open reduction and internal fixation with locking distal

Perivascular Matrix Densification Dysregulates Angiogenesis and Activates Pro‐Inflammatory Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Perivascular matrix densification promotes the emergence of aberrant endothelial tip cells (ATECs) that invade and persist within fibrotic microenvironments. Using in vivo lineage tracing and a human microvessel model, this study shows that fibrous matrix cues destabilize VE‐cadherin–mediated junctions to gate TGF‐β signaling, inducing a pro ...

Novel Case of Ipsilateral Supracondylar Fracture with Distal Radio-Ulna Fracture with Acute Compartment Syndrome: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Case Reports
Introduction: Fractures involving the supracondylar or distal end radius are the most common fracture in pediatric population. Although they have similar mechanisms of injury, i.e., hyperextension, they occur in isolation and combined supracondylar and ...
