Plant‐protein supplementation improves thermoregulatory responses and ameliorates markers of intestinal damage during exercise in the heat

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Exercise in the heat often causes gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances, which can impair performance. Single amino acid supplementation can attenuate gut damage and enhance exercise tolerance; however, the effectiveness of innate amino acid blends from plant‐based proteins remains underexplored.

Near‐Peer Anatomy‐Anchored Teaching

open access: yesThe Clinical Teacher, Volume 23, Issue 6, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The transition from pre‐clinical to clinical medicine is challenging, particularly in applying anatomical knowledge to patient care. Reductions in dedicated anatomy teaching time have compounded this. Near‐peer teaching may help address this gap by reducing hierarchy and enhancing psychological safety, though few programmes have ...

Risk Factors for Pathologic Fracture in Dogs With Confirmed or Suspected Appendicular Osteosarcoma Treated With Low‐ or Standard‐Dose‐Rate Palliative External Beam Radiation Therapy

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Pathologic fracture is a complication of bone cancer with probable increased risk following radiation therapy (RT). Low‐dose‐rate (LDR) RT can spare late‐responding normal tissues by allowing intrafraction DNA repair, which could also impact tumor response. This retrospective cohort study evaluated efficacy and fracture rate in canine patients
