Gradient Distance Function

open access: yes
Unsigned Distance Functions (UDFs) can be used to represent non-watertight surfaces in a deep learning framework. However, UDFs tend to be brittle and difficult to learn, in part because the surface is located exactly where the UDF is non-differentiable.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Natural Gas Pricing Based On Social Costs of Carbon: A Case Study of Kerman Province

open access: yesبرنامه‌ریزی و بودجه, 2019
Due to the increasing demand for natural gas and its benefit of producing less carbon compared to other fossil fuels, pricing the natural gas based on the social expenses is becoming necessary more than ever. Accordingly, presenting models that enable us

Infeasibility and Directional Distance Functions with Application to the Determinateness of the Luenberger Productivity Indicator [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this contribution is to highlight an underexplored property of the directional distance function, a recently introduced generalization of the Shephard distance function.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

A Remark on Bures Distance Function Remark on Bures Distance Function

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 1970
An inequality between the norm of the difference of two vector states of a W * -algebra and the infimum distance between vectors representing the states in a fixed representation is derived.
