Distance Sensitive AdaBoost using Distance Weight Function [PDF]
This paper proposes a new method to improve performance of AdaBoost by using a distance weight function to increase the accuracy of its machine learning processes. The proposed distance weight algorithm improves classification in areas where the original binary classifier is weak.

Global Eikonal Condition for Lorentzian Distance Function in Noncommutative Geometry [PDF]
Connes' noncommutative Riemannian distance formula is constructed in two steps, the first one being the construction of a path-independent geometrical functional using a global constraint on continuous functions. This paper generalizes this first step to

ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Effect of induced blur on distance visual function
Background: Tests of visual function assess the eye and visual system. Factors such as ageing, refractive error, strabismus, amblyopia and ocular diseases have a negative effect on different visual functions. Aim: To determine the effect of induced blur

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

The distance function from the boundary in a Minkowski space
Let the space $\mathbb{R}^n$ be endowed with a Minkowski structure $M$ (that is $M\colon \mathbb{R}^n \to [0,+\infty)$ is the gauge function of a compact convex set having the origin as an interior point, and with boundary of class $C^2$), and let $d^M(x,
