Neural network reconstructions for the Hubble parameter, growth rate and distance modulus [PDF]

open access: diamondEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
This paper introduces a new approach to reconstruct cosmological functions using artificial neural networks based on observational measurements with minimal theoretical and statistical assumptions.

A new analytical solution for the distance modulus in flat cosmology [PDF]

open access: goldThe International Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics (2019),9,51-62, 2019
A new analytical solution for the luminosity distance in flat $\Lambda$CDM cosmology is derived in terms of elliptical integrals of first kind with real argument. The consequent derivation of the distance modulus allows evaluating the Hubble constant, $H_0=69.77\pm 0.33$, $\om= 0.295\pm0.008$ and the cosmological constant, $\Lambda= (1.194 \pm 0.017)10^

Direct evidence of acceleration from distance modulus redshift graph [PDF]

open access: greenJCAP0708:018,2007, 2007
The energy conditions give upper bounds on the luminosity distance. We apply these upper bounds to the 192 essence supernova Ia data to show that the Universe had experienced accelerated expansion. This conclusion is drawn directly from the distance modulus-reshift graph.

Sparse Formulae for the Distance Modulus in Cosmology [PDF]

open access: gold, 2021
We review the distance modulus in twelve different cosmologies: the ΛCDM model, the wCDM model, the Cardassian model, the flat case, the φCDM cosmology, the Einstein–De Sitter model, the modified Einstein– De Sitter model, the simple GR model, the flat ...

On the Distance Modulus of the Large Magellanic Cloud [PDF]

open access: bronze, 1980
The corrected modulus = 18.31 ± 0.15 (external m.e.) previously derived from five independent primary distance indicators is confirmed by nine different secondary and tertiary indicators which give = 18.20 ± 0.10 (internal mean error) on the same system ...

A New Red Giant–based Distance Modulus of 13.3 Mpc to the Antennae Galaxies and Its Consequences1 [PDF]

open access: bronze, 2008
The Antennae galaxies are the closest example of an ongoing major galaxy merger and, as such, represent a unique laboratory for furthering the understanding of the formation of exotic objects (e.g., tidal dwarf galaxies, ultraluminous X-ray sources ...

The Near-IR TRGB Magnitude and Distance Modulus to NGC 185 [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2008
We determined values of distance modulus to nearby dwarf galaxy NGC 185 from the Tip of Red-Giant Branch (TRGB) method. Apparent magnitudes of the TRGB are estimated from the near-infrared JHK luminosity functions (LFs) of the resolved giant branch stars.

Progressive Fracture Behavior and Acoustic Emission Release of CJBs Affected by Joint Distance Ratio

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The progressive collapse behavior and energy release of columnar jointed basalts (CJBs) can be greatly influenced by different joint distance ratios. By adopting the digital image correlation, a series of heterogeneous CJB models are established.

The distance modulus of the Small Magellanic Cloud based on double-mode Cepheids [PDF]

open access: greenAstron. Astrophys., Vol. 360, L1-4 (2000), 2000
We employ the very recent photometric data of the OGLE project together with stellar atmosphere and linear pulsation models to determine the distance modulus of the Small Magellanic Cloud from its double-mode Cepheids. Based on the requirement of obtaining the same distance modulus DM from the two types of variables (fundamental & first overtone and ...

Near-IR TRGB Distance Modulus of Dwarf Irregular Galaxy IC 1613 [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2009
The JHKs magnitudes of the red giant branch tip (TRGB) and the distance moduli of the nearby dwarf irregular galaxy IC 1613 have been determined from the nearinfrared luminosity functions (LFs) of the resolved stars in the galaxy.
